Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program

Ana Ravelo, MD

Biography

Ana Ravelo is originally from Venezuela and grew up in Florida. She completed her education along the East Coast, earning her undergraduate degree from Boston University, her medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, and her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Brown University Health. She is excited to remain in Rhode Island to pursue her subspecialty training in pediatric hematology/oncology.

Ana’s research to date has focused on adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding. As a first-year fellow, she is approaching her training with curiosity and openness, eager to explore the full breadth of the field. She has particular interests in endocrinopathies and late effects of treatment in childhood cancer survivors, as well as health literacy and communication—especially the thoughtful use of interpreters when delivering new diagnoses.
